Qatar's National English Debate team has left for Vietnam to participate in the World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC), which will be held in Hanoi from July 17 to 28 with the participation of more than 70 teams.
The participation of Qatari team in the championship will serve as a moment of pride in the country's youth. Qatar Debate has taken over a challenge of training and providing support to the team during a limited time frame, said QatarDebate Centre in a press release yesterday.
The team's incredible capabilities along with intensive support sessions by debate instructors has made it possible for Team Qatar to qualify to partake in such global events, along with the generous support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Such global participations strengthen the partnership between the Ministry and QatarDebate.
The centre seeks to invest the capabilities of the youth by channelling them into positive outlets that serve to the benefit of their future, achieve their goals.
The National English Debate team includes Reem al-Aqili, Fatima Marafi, Fatima Almohannadi, Amira Ishaq and Mira Khalid Mohamed. In addition to the team, a delegation from QatarDebate facilitating support is headed by Hawa al-Jaradi and debate instructors Tasneem Elias, Mubarrt Wassy and Sajid Khandgar.
