His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune held an official talks session at the Amiri Diwan Sunday.
At the outset of the session, the Amir welcomed the Algerian President and the accompanying delegation, wishing them a good stay and looking forward to further developing brotherly relations in various fields to achieve the aspirations and interests of the two peoples.
For his part, President Tebboune expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Amir for the good reception and generous hospitality, hoping that the visit would enhance cooperation and fraternal relations between Qatar and Algeria.
During the session, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance and develop them in various fields, especially in economy, trade, industry, energy, and technology. The talks also touched on key regional and international issues.
The session was attended by HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani, HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohamed bin Ali bin Mohamed al-Mannai, HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi, and a number of senior officials.
On the Algerian side, the session was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Finance Laaziz Fayed, Minister of Energy and Mining Mohamed Arkab, Minister of Post and Telecommunications Karim Bibi Triki, Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry Ali Aoun, Minister of Trade and Export Promotion Tayeb Zitouni, Minister of Public Works, Hydraulics and Basic Infrastructures Lakhdar Rakhroukh, Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid, and a number of senior officials.
Afterward, His Highness the Amir and the Algerian President held a bilateral meeting, where they exchanged views on a number of issues of common concern, particularly developments in the region.
On this occasion, the Amir hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the Algerian President and the delegation accompanying him.
