Four people in Canada, including two children, were reported missing on Saturday in flooding triggered by torrential rains in Nova Scotia, police said.

Heavy rains falling since Friday in Nova Scotia have cut off roads and flooded homes.
Premier Tim Houston told a news briefing that the province had received some 25cm (10”) of rain – the equivalent of three months’ rainfall – in less than 24 hours.
He declared a state of emergency in several areas of the province and urged residents not to join the search for the missing as “conditions remain dangerous”.
He estimated that it would take several days for the water to recede.
“We have a scary, significant situation,” said Houston, adding that at least seven bridges would have to be replaced or rebuilt.
“The property damage to homes ... is pretty unimaginable,” he said, adding that the province would be seeking significant support from the federal government.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told reporters in Toronto that he was very concerned about the floods and promised that Ottawa “will be there” for the province.
People in the Windsor region got evacuation orders in the middle of the night because of the danger that flooding would cause the breach of a dam.
Relief valves were opened early on Saturday to reduce pressure and the situation is now under control, said Windsor Mayor Abraham Zebian.
News footage and images on social media showed roads that looked like rivers and many cars abandoned in the water.
Environment Canada’s weather service said heavy rain was expected into the evening in the eastern part of the province.
The flooding was the latest weather-related calamity to pound Canada this year.
Wildfires have already burned a record number of hectares, sending clouds of smoke into the United States. Earlier this month, heavy rains caused floods in several eastern US states.
