Katara Summer Camp 2023 is continuing its various activities with a package of rich cultural programmes and events provided by a contingent of professionals and experts.
Director of Public Relations and Communications at Katara Salem al-Marri said that the camp translates the keenness of Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) to offer miscellaneous activities for various age groups by briefing the participating children on cultural, educational and training fields.
He added that activities have been diversified to attract children and meet their needs for entertainment and knowledge with the participation of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), Al Jazeera Media Institute, Nomas Center, alongside Al Ramii Sport Club that would essentially help children fill their leisure times with beneficial things to further support their character and engage in new experiences.
The camp activities aim to connect between educational practice from one side and promote Qatari identity and local customs and traditions from other side in order to develop social, religious and national values, al-Marri outlined.
The Civil Defence is participating in Katara Summer Camp with the 'Accident-Free Summer' Campaign as part of its awareness plan for 2023 on the common mistakes that potentially cause fires in summer season, whether in homes, or critical institutions and facilities, methods of learning evacuation plans and escape from disasters, as well as using various types of fire extinguishers in the incipient or beginning stages of a fire known as golden minutes.
Meanwhile, children reacted to the lectures that were punctuated by questions and inquiries.
For his part, Head of Programmes and Activities at Nomas Center Jassim al-Maadeed said the center's participation in the camp comes in the context of promoting the national identity in the community as part of its unwavering efforts as an incubator for the Qatari culture.
The participation aims to develop young people and help them invest in their leisure times by practicing activities that are closely interconnected with heritage, customs and traditions that are deeply rooted in the people of Qatar, he added.
The centre engages in the camp activities with many workshops on the etiquette of engaging in majlis discussions and Ardha through qualified Qatari trainers who have the relevant capabilities and aptitude.
