Within an atmosphere of joy and entertainment, more than 40 children are participating in the third consecutive day of Katara Summer Camp, where they have attended a variety of workshops, lectures, and awareness, entertainment, and sports activities.
The camp will welcome a new group of participating children next Sunday with the aim of providing the opportunity for the largest possible number of children to participate in and benefit from the camp.
Accordingly, parents have praised Katara for organising the camp, especially during the summer holidays, and praised the quality of workshops and lectures that have been provided. They stressed that these activities contribute to the development of their children's minds, knowledge, and experiences, as well as enriching their understanding of their religion.
In addition to participating in sports such as football and beach volleyball, the programmes for the third day included a visit to Al Thuraya Planetarium, where the participants took a tour inside the dome and enjoyed watching a 3D film titled "The Astronaut".
They also had a tour at Al Qannas Qatari Society to learn more about falcons and hunting, which enhanced their knowledge and skills in this field. The camp organisers were keen to introduce a number of educational workshops on hospitality and traditional majlis etiquette to instill the authentic customs and traditions of Qatar among the youngsters.
At the end of the last day of the first week of the camp, the participating children were honoured for their active participations. The activities for the second week of the camp will start next Sunday with a new group of participants. These activities will include workshops from Al Jazeera Media Institute, which will cover video production and character design. In addition, there will be participation from the General Directorate of Civil Defence, Qatar Red Crescent, Shooting Sports Club, and Nomas Center.
