The Qatari Majlis programme, organised by the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre (Fanar) under the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has won praise from a large number of participants.
The programme, according to an official press statement from Awqaf, was attended by participants from different nationalities and it dealt with talk about Qatari cuisine and some food habits of the Qatari society. Around 80 participants were explained about the Qatari culinary habits while focusing on the most important seasonal foods and dishes.
Also, the Department of Islamic Culture held a programme of weekly Sharia lessons in the presence of 30 people from the Telugu-speaking community. This came within the framework of the Fanar’s keenness to provide Sharia and educational lessons to all communities and to spread Islamic culture according to a moderation approach based on the teachings of the holy Qur'an and the Prophet (peace be upon him) .
The students at Awqaf’s summer training programme visited Fanar last week during their training programme. At the centre, they learned about the most prominent activities and events carried out by the centre. The visiting students were explained about the role of Qatari youth in defining Islamic and Qatari culture.
The students also visited the heritage hall of the centre that displays the stages and development of Qatari life. They experienced the virtual reality show here that delivers the message of Islam. Also, they received a set of Fanar’s booklets and souvenirs.
