Police Academy celebrates graduation of civil university students and 6th batch of Police Officers of Tomorrow

The Police Academy celebrated Tuesday the graduation of civil university students of the 8th imperative qualitative course in the presence of HE the Minister of Interior, Commander of the Lekhwiya Force and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Police Academy Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani.The ceremony included screening a film which simulated the course stages starting from freshman until the last day of the course, as students took the solemn oath as a formal promise they made to defend and serve the homeland. HE the Minister of Interior handed over certificates to 41 graduates from the officer candidates affiliated with the Ministry of Interior and Lekhwiya Force, who for more than six months received sports and military training and a variety of academic lectures in law and police sciences.In his remarks during the ceremony, leader of the 8th imperative qualifying course, Captain Fahd Muhanna al-Sulaiti, said the course began in the second week of February, which 41 trainees of the affiliates of the Ministry of Interior and Lekhwiya Force joined to further engage in a training programme to ensure their transition from civil life to military life.He outlined that the course programme included sports and military training, along with a foundation operations course at Zekreet camp that encompassed various sessions on subjects and skills like combating riots, combat operation at build-up areas, art of knots and ties, descending from towers, tactical marksmanship with its various types. The academic aspect included a variety of courses in law and police sciences.In his remarks on behalf of the graduates, valedictorian Badr Tariq al-Said Hashim al-Sada pointed to the efforts the Police Academy has made during the course to equip the trainees with academic and military knowledge, to pave the way for them to join their colleagues in the police force and share in the career in safeguarding safety and security.HE Sheikh Khalifa also attended the graduation ceremony of the sixth batch from the 4th edition (Summer 2023) of the Police Officers of Tomorrow's programme, held at the academy.The sixth batch comprised nearly 300 cadets who engaged in a range of activities for two weeks, such as infantry military, self-defence, physical fitness, air rifle marksmanship and other cultural and sports activities.During the ceremony, a group of cadets performed demonstrations depicting police tasks and efforts in safeguarding security, such as handling situations of theft, fires, as well as marksmanship with its various types and raising awareness on the importance of registering the national address in quest of streamlining the process of rapid response to security incidents reports.
