The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CSGDB) has announced the opening of registration for the “Mahara — academic path” programme in co-operation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE).
The programme is aimed at enrolling job seekers registered on the “Kawader” platform who hold a high school certificate in diploma specialisations within the government scholarship programmes.
HE the President of the CSGDB Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak al-Khalifa commended the co-operation with the MoEHE, indicating that it would have a significant impact on developing the skills and capabilities of the Mahara academic path programme members, enabling them to obtain academic qualifications to increase their employment opportunities and guide them to specialisations according to the needs of the labor market.
He praised co-operation between all government agencies in implementing the initiatives and programmes proposed by the CSGDB during the past period, which were aimed at raising Qatarisation rates in the government sector through the two tracks of immediate replacement and future replacement, contributing to the realisation of Qatar National Vision 2030 by investing in and developing human cadres.
In turn, HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Buthaina bint Ali al-Jabr al-Nuaimi expressed her pride in the continuous co-operation with the CSGDB through the recent launch of a number of initiatives, including academic competencies, Tamkeen, and Mahara.
She said that through the “Mahara – academic path” programme, high school graduates who meet the criteria of the programme would get the opportunity to receive academic scholarships in the disciplines needed by the state according to the needs of the labor market.
CSGDB Civil Service Affairs director Saif al-Kaabi indicated that the “Mahara – Academic Path” is directed to job seekers from among high school graduates, giving them the opportunity to obtain government scholarships for a diploma degree in specialisations needed by the state.
He pointed out that they would receive a monthly stipend of QR5,000 throughout their studies, in addition to their direct appointment in government agencies after the successful completion of their scholarship.
The “Mahara – Academic Path” programme is in line with the vocational (technical) training path in the Mahara programme.
It aims to send holders of high school certificates, who meet the criteria of the programme, on scholarships in academic diploma majors in meteorology, air traffic control, aircraft maintenance engineering, practical nursing, electrical power engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, information technology, communication and network engineering technology, and associate diploma in information technology at the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), Community College of Qatar (CCQ), and Qatar Aviation Academy.
