An earthquake measuring 4.8 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Thursday Ucayali Province in eastern Peru.
The Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) said that the epicenter of the earthquake occurred 42 km from the city of Pucallpa, at a depth of 153 km.
There have been no reports of casualties or material damage as a result of the earthquake so far.
On June 8, an earthquake of 5.4 magnitude hit the coast of Arequipa, southwestern Peru, at a depth of 35 km.
Peru is exposed to at least 400 earthquakes every year due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire.
