The Customs Administration of Hamad Port and the southern ports has thwarted an attempt to smuggle tobacco.
Following an inspection conducted on the suspicion of a customs inspector, 712kgms of the banned substance was found hidden inside the tins in a shipment of paint, the General Authority of Customs said in a post on X. 17,500 cigarette packs were also found hidden inside the shipment, the announcement said.
