Nearly 90 orphaned students sponsored by Qatar Charity (QC) in Bangladesh passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination with distinction. The students from QC’s various orphan care centres across the country appeared in the exam held in April 2023. They thanked the benefactors in Qatar and QC.
Mohammadd Rabbi Miah, a student who achieved the highest GPA of 5, said: “I lost my father at the age of 6. Since then, I have been under the sponsorship of Qatar Charity. What I have achieved today is the result of the care provided by Qatar Charity and the support of Qatar's generous people.
Aysha Siddika, one of the outstanding students, said: “I am very happy with my distinguished results. Qatar Charity and my lovely mother are the source of inspiration in my life. I aspire to achieve good results in the upcoming academic levels as well.”
Parents and teachers also expressed their joy at the outstanding results achieved by their children. “We are very poor. It would be very difficult for me to afford my child's education without Qatar Charity's support,” said Moyali Begum, a mother of an orphaned student.
QC over the past five years, constructed 45 schools with educational and residential facilities for students. More than 12,000 students currently benefit from these schools. QC sponsors 3,500 orphaned children with the aim of building a bright future for them.
