Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) is hosting a one-day symposium on 'Tackling Obesity: Multidisciplinary Approaches for Comprehensive Care'.
The forum comprising a series of lectures and interactive sessions will be held on September 2 at WCM-Q premises.
Co-ordinated by the WCM-Q’s Division of Continuing Professional Development and directed by assistant professor of medicine Dr Tariq Chukir, the symposium is designed to enable healthcare professionals to recognise misconceptions about the management of obesity, describe up to date evidence-based strategies to manage obesity (from lifestyle interventions to advanced therapies), and formulate an individualised patient-centred plan to manage patients before, during, and after weight loss.
The symposium is aimed at physicians, nurses, pharmacists, allied health professionals, students, and researchers, and will be delivered in collaboration with experts from local, regional, and international institutions.
