The Qatar Press Centre (QPC) has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Kuwaiti Tarous Consulting Centre. The agreement aims to enhance the role of the QPC in Qatar and the region to be more effective in consolidating the status of journalism and political and social media through cooperation in conducting research and studying public opinion trends.
QPC director general Sadiq Mohamad al-Amari, said: "This agreement is important to diversify the work of the centre and enhance its activity in the community in a way that serves many stakeholders and decision-makers who are keen to elicit analysis, understand positions and measure public opinion trends on various issues.
"This agreement reflects positively on the centre and its presence in a number of matters and media, political and social issues, and expands the base of beneficiaries," he added.
Tarous Consulting Centre director and founder Mohamed Khalif al-Thunayan, said: “We are pleased with the fruitful cooperation that we started today with the QPC within the framework of common media goals that bring us together in several areas such as writing strategies and plans, studies, research, polls, assessing public opinion, political analysis, and cooperation in media, political, social and economic fields, thereby harnessing efforts in relations and communication with civil society and the international community, in addition to holding joint events, seminars and conferences.”
Al-Thunayan explained that the memorandum also stipulates providing support for workshops and training courses, exchanging experiences, information and consultations, publishing and publications of books of common interest, holding panel discussions, submitting position assessment papers, opening relations with research centres and establishing academic partnerships in a way that contributes to efforts to improve performance, invest in human resources, and capacity building according to standards of quality and excellence.
