Murals painted by Qatari artists on the exterior of electricity generator rooms within a residential complex belonging to a real estate company has added a beautiful aesthetic touch, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
The murals reflect the role of art in enhancing the aesthetic landscape of cities and residential areas and transforming blank walls into artwork to enrich the cultural scene in the country.
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal), represented by the Supervisory Committee for the Beautification of Roads and Public Places and Qatar Museums (QM) provided support to the male and female artists for such murals.
This gave them the opportunity to paint murals and beautify tunnels, bridges and other major projects in the country.
Ideas for the artwork are inspired by the features of the Qatari environment and culture.
The QM acts as a link between museums, cultural institutions, and heritage sites in Qatar, and provides the appropriate conditions for them to flourish and develop.
The QM is also concerned with centralising resources and providing a comprehensive organisation for the development of museums and cultural projects with a long-term ambition to achieve a strong and sustainable cultural infrastructure in Qatar.
