Traffic violations went down in Qatar with a remarkable decrease of 10.1% in July compared to June, according to the monthly statistics, released by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA).
The115th issue of the PSA monthly bulletin also showed a drop by 7.1% in traffic accident deaths during July compared to the previous month.
Number of road traffic accident cases without injuries stood at 595 in July with a monthly decrease of 3.9% and an annual decrease by 14.3%. Light injuries accounted for most traffic accidents with 93% followed by severe injuries by 5%. However, 13 deaths were recorded. This is equivalent to only 2% of the total number of accidents.
The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar slightly increased from 2.658mn in July 2022 to 2.704mn in June 2023 at an annual rate of change of 1.72%. The population decreased monthly by 1.8%.
A total of 2,211 live births were registered during June with a monthly decrease in the total Qatari live births by 2.4%. There were 218 deaths recorded during the same period with a monthly increase of 17.2%.
The total number of inbound visitors reached about 288,000, recording a monthly increase of 2.1% (compared to June 2023) and recorded an annual increase of 91.4% (compared to July 2022).
According to the latest edition of the "Qatar; Monthly Statistics" bulletin, the highest number of visitors came from the GCC countries (47%). As for visitors by type of port, the visitors via air made up the highest percentage with 58% of the total number of visitors flying into Qatar.
