MES Indian School celebrated Teachers’ Day with traditional gaiety, pomp and grandeur. A spectacular ceremony was conducted to honour teachers for their commitment and dedication toward empowering the young generation with the required skills and knowledge.
Officiating president Dr Najeeb K P, the chief guest, lauded teachers for their righteousness and relentless effort in enlightening students in their journey to success.
Principal Dr Hameeda Kadar complimented teachers for their selfless service and the significant role played by them in building character and values among students.
On the occasion, the teachers who had 100% attendance for the academic year 2022-23, the teachers whose students secured 100 marks in the CBSE Exam - March 2023, as well as those teachers who were continual in their feat for two consecutive years, were honoured with certificates of appreciation.
Dr Hameeda Kadar on behalf of the school staff presented a memento to Dr Najeeb. Pushyami, a teacher representative from the Girls’ Section felicitated her colleagues. This was followed by a cultural segment, which included a medley of group songs, dance mime, and fun games.
The winners of various fun-filled games conducted as a part of the Teachers’ Day celebrations were awarded trophies.
Sameer Pande, a teacher from the department of Hindi, dressed up as Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the second president of India and a revered academic in whose memory Teachers' Day is observed.
Earlier in the day, section-wise special assemblies were conducted in which students paid glowing tributes to their mentors for their guidance and support. Students in the kindergarten section sang a 'thank you' note to their beloved teachers and prepared greeting cards.
In the junior wing, a virtual assembly saw the IV graders dressed as the key functionaries and teachers of the section. As a token of love and reverence, the kids presented greeting cards, and bouquets to teachers.
In the girls’ section, senior students expressed their gratitude to teachers through speeches.
The student Guides gave flowers to the principal and the Marshalls of the Middle School presented potted plants. Flower bouquets and badges were distributed to the principal and school officials.
In the boys’ section, members of the student council in association with Campus Care Force took the initiative in organising events. In honour of the dedication of teachers and as a token of love and respect for them, there were cake-cutting ceremonies in various sections of the school.
Lucky dips were conducted for the teachers in all sections wherein the winners were presented with a token of love. The day mirrored the abundance of affection and reverence that students hold for their teachers.
Rema Devi, co-ordinator, department of English, and her team compered the Teachers’ Day programme.
Davidson and Meghna, members of the teaching faculty, welcomed the attendees and proposed a vote of thanks, respectively.
Cultural co-ordinators Anver K and Sumitha Nassar co-ordinated the event. The ICT department under the guidance of Haroon Muhammed provided technical support for the smooth conduct of the programme.
