Competitions were held in three championships as part of the activities of the 16th edition of Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival (Marmi 2025) held at Shabakat Al Marmi area in Sealine.Held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, the event is supported by the Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) and organised by Qatari Society of Al Gannas.Three falcons qualified for the final after the competitors in the semi-finals of the Al Tala’a Championship were held group by group. The competitions of the fourth, fifth and sixth groups were postponed. Turki Abdullah al-Dosari, Hamdan Mohammed al-Nuaimi and Shaheen Salem al-Dosari qualified for the final.The falconers and the audience were given the opportunity to interact with the semi-final qualifiers for the Tala’a Championship in six groups and the qualifiers for the Da’wa Championship for the category of the young falcon. The evening period witnessed dialogue and challenge between falcons and carrier pigeons.Mohammed Mubarak al-Ali, chairman of the Tala’a Committee, said the first three groups qualified with falconers. He pointed out that the competitions of the remaining groups were postponed to January 19 because the sun rose very high and the temperature rose due to the delay in the start.Shawi al-Kaabi, chairman of the Haddad Al Tahadi Committee, said that Wednesday was a memorable day as the falcons restored pride to their owners, flew high, ascended and were able to hunt pigeons.Metaib Mubarak al-Qahtani, chairman of the Marmi Festival, crowned the winners and those who qualified for the final.
