Awqaf launches 11th Ramadan dialogues programme ‘Wa Aamanahum Min Khawf’
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf), represented by the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance, announced the launch of the 11th season of its Ramadan dialogues programme ‘Wa Aamanahum Min Khawf’ for the year 1446 AH (2025).The ministry stated that the first session of the programme is scheduled to begin Saturday, corresponding to the 8th of Ramadan, at the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque after Taraweeh prayers. The programme will run over four days, featuring a distinguished group of scholars and intellectuals from Qatar and across the Islamic world. According to the ministry, ‘Wa Aamanahum Min Khawf’ serves as an intellectual dialogue platform organised annually during Ramadan, aiming to address contemporary issues relevant to the Islamic Ummah, enhance its cultural and intellectual security, correct misconceptions, and provide well-founded perspectives and intellectual reviews.The programme will host a select group of scholars and thinkers known for their moderation and scholarly authority, addressing the challenges faced by the Islamic Ummah through a modern and civilisational lens.In its 11th edition, the programme comprises four dialogue sessions, each lasting one hour and twenty minutes, focusing on pivotal issues in the Islamic context. The first session, titled ‘Tawheed,’ will take place Saturday, highlighting the importance and centrality of Tawheed in Islamic creed. The second session on Sunday will explore the role of the family in building a cohesive and healthy society under the title ‘The Muslim Family’.The third session, scheduled for Monday, the 10th of Ramadan, will delve into introducing Islam in the age of artificial intelligence by exploring ways to leverage modern technologies to present the true image of Islam. The fourth and final session, planned for Tuesday, will address the challenges of Islamophobia and strategies to combat it. The ministry has ensured that the public from Qatar and the entire Islamic world can follow the ‘Wa Aamanahum Min Khawf’ sessions through live broadcasts on the ministry’s social media accounts, ensuring the programme’s content reaches a broad audience locally and internationally.Notably, the programme serves as an opportunity for the Ummah to renew its connection with its scholars and thinkers, discussing Islamic intellectual and cultural issues in a Ramadan atmosphere that fosters awareness and knowledge through a balanced and profound framework.GCC Endowment WeekThe General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) is participating in the GCC Endowment Week under the theme ‘Endowment and Community Building’, an initiative aimed at promoting the culture of endowment and supporting charitable and social efforts across the Gulf.Director-General of the General Directorate of Endowments Eng Hassan bin Abdullah al-Marzouqi highlighted that the initiative seeks to educate individuals, businesses, and institutions about the significance of endowments as a tool to support development initiatives. He emphasised the importance of collaboration among endowment organisations in GCC countries to enhance awareness and develop effective measures to monitor and improve endowment performance.Al-Marzouqi noted that the GCC Endowment Week provides a valuable opportunity for institutions to exchange expertise on establishing sustainable endowments that address community needs and aspirations.He also showcased the innovative approach of reinvesting endowment revenues to create new endowments, which ensures both growth and sustainability. Held during the second week of Ramadan, the initiative leverages the spirit of the holy month to emphasise the role of endowments in fostering community development and solidarity. The General Directorate of Endowments also aligns its efforts with inclusive practices, offering a variety of endowment channels to cater to different philanthropic preferences and contribute to societal progress.
