Nisha Shivram from Toastmasters District 116- Qatar won second place at the World Championship of Public Speaking in The Bahamas. Her speech titled, 'Swipe,' gave out a message to help fellow human beings without any hesitation, expectation or calculation. A native of the southern Indian state of Kerala, the Qatar resident has been a member of Toastmasters since 2007 and has been taking part in speech contests for 13 years. She was one of the eight finalists last year at Nashville, Tennesse.
“The credit of this achievement goes to my mentor Vinod Pisharom, for his guidance throughout the contests. My heartfelt gratitude to Toastmasters who have been helping individuals like me become a better communicator," said Nisha, a corporate trainer.
District 116 Qatar has got more than 200 Toastmasters clubs that include Arabic, Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil and other regional languages club as well.
