Charm, elegance thrill visitors on first day of Expo Doha

Expo 2023 Doha at Al Bidda Park enthralled and entertained the visitors Tuesday with various activities, ranging from cultural fetes and processions to workshops.
Spanning over 1.7mn sq m, the event site is dotted with gardens, installations, arches, gates and lush serpentine grasslands.
The international pavilions add charm to the first International Horticultural Exhibition to be held in the Middle East and North Africa region, upholding the expo's motto *Green Desert, Better Environment while putting the latest horticulture techniques and trends on display.
Qatar’s attachment to heritage, tradition and architecture is highlighted through its pavilion resembling the Ras Abrouq landscape that combines the elements of modern design and art.
Apart from cultural activities, entertainment, music, art fete, live shows, thought-provoking talks, conferences, art and cuisine are on the list.
The Sports In Nature programme, Sand Meet and Eco Challenge were held along with Qatar and International Street Games.
Several shows are lined up for the Family Zone, where the Digital Park will host various programmes for families, youth and kids in the upcoming days.
The Grandstand Arena at Expo 2023 Doha will host world-renowned international and regional artists while the Cultural Bazaar will house a vibrant marketplace and feature traditional artisanal products, including handicraft from various countries.
The open-air Family Amphitheatre will feature a variety of edutainment shows and activities suitable for kids and families.
From interactive performances to educational programmes, the place will provide a space for every visitor.
The International Zone boasts of international gardens, exhibitions and events.
The Family Area will act as a hub for family fun, activities, gathering and outdoor pursuits with an approximate area of 500,000sq m.
Spread over about 500,000sq m, the Cultural Area highlights the historical core of Doha and its onsite features of the Old Fort and Old Rocks.
The Indoor Domes, which are the indoor gardens, will be housed within domes featuring controlled conditions and temperatures to preserve and nurture the gardens.
This space offers an ideal setting for cultivating plants and flowers that demand specific indoor environments, temperatures and lighting.
The Environment Centre and Biodiversity Museum provides a dedicated space to exhibit environmental science, renewable energy demonstrations and technologies, and share climate change statistics and information.
Expo 2023 Doha’s multi-cuisine kiosks will bring together the best culinary experiences and feature live entertainment.
