The Youth Ideas for Sustainability Forum, organised by the Ministry of Sports and Youth, began in Doha Sunday.
The forum, which will run until Oct 19, seeks to exchange youth experiences in sustainability, create an environment that encourages innovation in designing community programmes and activities, in addition to strengthening the link between initiatives and sustainable development goals.
Participating countries in the forum are Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, which hosts the event, in addition to Jordan and Morocco.
The forum will offer an opportunity for Gulf youth to participate with their initiatives that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals by creating an interactive, stimulating environment that will have a societal impact.
Participants will attend a set of workshops covering both theoretical and practical aspects, presented by a group of certified Qatari trainers and those with experience in this field.
There will be workshops on strategy and sustainability, innovation in community activities and programmes, marketing skills and attracting investors, and project presentation skills, in addition to an entertainment programme that includes visiting the most important landmarks and museums in Doha.
The forum will conclude with an exhibition of youth projects in the field of sustainability after introducing the necessary enhancements to them and benefiting from the training workshops in which they took part to develop their ideas in this field.
