Following the recent tragic events unfolding in the region, talabat is supporting the people in Gaza through app donations, including urgent relief, food parcels and homes restoration projects, it was announced yesterday.
As part of its commitment to utilising its tech for good, talabat collaborated with its trusted and licensed local charity partner, Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), to enable customers to safely and securely donate on the app.
How to donate to Qatar Red Crescent Society through talabat: Step 1: click the ‘Charity’ option under ‘Shortcuts’ on the homepage, Step 2: select Qatar Red Crescent QRCS from the list, Step 3: add a menu item of their choosing then paying at checkout.
Additionally, talabat donated more than €500,000 Euros to its long-standing global partner, the UN World Food Programme (UN WFP), to support its humanitarian relief efforts for those affected in Palestine.
WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian organisation whose operations aim to provide a lifeline through food assistance and development, to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity, for people affected by conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change.
"As talabat, we put food - and more - on the table for everyone in Mena. However, in the current circumstances, talabat is supporting the UN WFP as a key organisation able to provide a food lifeline to those who need it most," a statement added.
