HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani received a phone call Saturday from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
During the phone call, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and means of boosting and developing them, in addition to the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and Israel and ways to reduce escalation.
During the call, the US Secretary of State thanked Qatar for its efforts in securing the release of two American citizens from the Gaza Strip.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during the phone call, affirmed Qatar's continued coordination with the United States of America and international partners to release prisoners and reduce the escalation in the Gaza Strip.
Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres also expressed his thanks and gratitude for the efforts of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani in helping to secure the release of two American citizens from the Gaza Strip.
In a statement by Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric , Guterres called for unhindered and sustained humanitarian access in Gaza; full respect for international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians; as well as for a concerted effort by the international community to avoid a wider regional spill-over of the conflict.
