Qatar Charity distributed 100 winter bags to students of an orphanage in the Muzaffargarh region of Pakistan as it is one of the coldest regions of the Punjab province.The winter bags contain blankets, pillows, mattresses, shawls and other winter clothes.The local authorities expressed their great appreciation to the people in Qatar for this intervention.Mehar Mazhar Abbas, director of the "Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal” and Orphanage, said: "We are grateful to the people in Qatar and to Qatar Charity for providing the supplies.”Asghar Legari, assistant commissioner of Kot Addu District, said: "We were pleased to see the smile on the faces of the children. This initiative is an inspiring example of the possibility of change through collective action. We thank Qatar Charity for its prominent and effective role in providing winter assistance to children.”Abdullah Khan, one of the orphans who benefited from this aid, said: "Thank you to the people in Qatar and to Qatar Charity for providing a bag for winter supplies, including clothes and blankets. This made me feel family warmth despite the absence of my father in this life. Receiving this gift made me feel that I am not alone and that I can face the cold with a smile.”Qatar Charity distributed 2,354 winter bags in 2023 to the most vulnerable communities in areas affected by snow and extreme cold in Pakistan, where 1,724 bags were distributed in Khyber, while 630 bags were distributed in the Neelum-Azad and Kashmir regions. Altogether, 5,851 orphans and other groups were supported in Pakistan through the Rofaqaa initiative of Qatar Charity.
