Under the patronage of HE the Minister of State and Qatar Charity (QC) chairman Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Jassem al-Thani, the activities of the forum for its field offices got underway Sunday.
The forum will continue until November 15 under the slogan 'Let us Leave a Mark', a statement said Sunday.

The opening ceremony was attended by many dignitaries, including Sheikh Dr Abdulaziz bin Abdurahman al-Thani, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the OIC Humanitarian Funds, in addition to officials from government bodies and humanitarian organisations, as well as the staff from the QC headquarters and its 32 field offices around the world.

"We consider our field offices as the eyes through which Qatar Charity sees,” QC chief executive Yousuf bin Ahmed al-Kuwari said in his opening remarks. “We, through these offices, assess needs, carry out appropriate humanitarian interventions in a timely manner, implement high-quality poverty alleviation projects and programmes, and promote sustainable development, in accordance with the governmental policies and plans of the countries we operate in, and governance procedures and risk management in charitable work.
"Given the important role of these offices and the desire to achieve Qatar Charity's vision, which is *Dignity for All, we work to expand the scope of our activity geographically and increase the number of these offices in the coming period to 40," he said while thanking the dignitaries as well as the directors and employees of the field offices, whom he described as the unsung heroes of charity work.

He stated that the QC is witnessing an expansion phase, as the number of its field offices has reached 32, and currently it sponsors more than 200,000 people and implements approximately 25,000 projects annually within its ongoing programmes.
Al-Hammadi also touched on the founding phase of the QC in 1984.
He said that in 1994, the first two field offices of the QC were established, in Sudan and Pakistan.
