Qatar participated in the 40th meeting of the GCC interior ministers in Muscat Wednesday. HE the Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force "Lekhwiya" Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, headed the Qatari delegation to the meeting.
The meeting focused on discussing various security matters with the aim of enhancing Gulf co-operation and co-ordination. Its objective was to build upon the progress achieved through collective co-operation, improve security performance, and address the rapidly evolving challenges in both the regional and international contexts. In light of Qatar hosting the 44th session of the GCC Supreme Council in December 2024, HE Sheikh Khalifa welcomed his GCC counterparts to Qatar for their 41st meeting slated for November 2024 in Doha. Earlier, HE Sheikh Khalifa and the accompanying delegation were welcome upon arrival at Muscat International Airport by Omani Interior Minister of Hamoud bin Faisal al-Busaidi.
