His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani received Sunday a phone call from President of the friendly United States of America Joe Biden.
During the call, they discussed the latest developments in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories. They also discussed the strategic relations between the two countries, in addition to the most prominent regional and international topics of common concern.
The President of the United States expressed his thanks and gratitude to His Highness the Amir for Qatar's diplomatic efforts regarding the situation in Gaza and its effective and positive role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.
In turn, His Highness the Amir stressed the necessity of an immediate ceasefire, to spare the bloodshed, protect the civilians in Gaza, and the permanent opening of the Rafah crossing to ensure the sustainable flow of relief convoys and humanitarian aid to the Palestinian brethren in the besieged Gaza Strip.
His Highness the Amir also stressed the constant diplomatic efforts of Qatar to reduce the escalation, including its efforts to release the hostages and open the Rafah crossing to foreigners and relief aid, appreciating the role of the United States of America in that context.
