President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee of the World Aquatics Championships – Doha 2024 HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani visited the Aspire Zone yesterday to oversee the final preparations for the event to be held from February 2 to 18, 2024. The QOC President was accompanied by Minister of Sports and Youth HE Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali and President of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) Dr Eng Saad bin Ahmed al-Muhannadi. Qatar is preparing to welcome more than 2,600 elite athletes from over 190 nations, as well as fans from across the world to kick off the most exhilarating competition on the global aquatics calendar. Doha 2024 will feature 75 medal events to take place across six aquatic sports – swimming, diving, water polo, artistic swimming, open water swimming and high diving.
