The Afghanistan pavilion at the International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha showcases products and crafts that reflect the history and heritage of a country known as one of the ancient contact points of the Silk Road and human migrations.
The pavilion features products like natural leather clothing, nuts, dried fruits, mountain almonds, the famous Afghan sweet made of sugar-coated almonds, long pine nuts, walnuts, various types of dried berries, apricots, black and green raisins, alongside figs and pistachios.
The pavilion contains a large collection of handicraft and gemstones, showcasing exquisite design forms using natural silk with colours inspired by nature. It includes mountain honey, saffron, and crystallised sugar.
Pavilion supervisor Ahmed Shah said that their participation in the expo is greatly beneficial due to the wide interest it has garnered from visitors of various nationalities.
He added that visitors are keen to purchase Afghan products that are known for their global reputation and high quality, especially the hand-woven woollen carpets and silver-inlaid bottles with gemstones. – QNA
