The registration process for Ras Laffan Falcons Championship started Sunday at the headquarters of Al Gannas Qatari Society at Katara – the Cultural Village.
The championship is being sponsored by the Ras Laffan Community Outreach programme and its supporting companies for the fifth consecutive year.
The registration process will be open until noon Monday.
Metaib al-Qahtani, director of Al Gannas Qatari Society Championships and Marmi Festival, said that the turnout for registration on the first day has been significant.
Falconers who gathered at Al Gannas Qatari Society to register for the Ras Laffan Falcons Championship highly appreciated the support to preserve the country’s heritage in falconry.
They also thanked Ras Laffan Community Outreach programme and its supporting companies.
The tournament organising committee had earlier launched the online registration process.
For those with new falcons, the only remaining step is to present the falcons to the committee for the installation of the hood on them.
In addition to the various competitions for adult and professional falconers, there will be a competition for the aspiring young falconers and the young falconer competition.
