Qatar Charity (QC), in partnership with Centre for Indian Community (CIC) - Qatar organised a medical camp for workers who are in the process of searching for work. Approximately 1,488 workers from various Asian nationalities benefited.The camp was implemented with the support of the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), the Ministry of Municipality, and Wellcare Pharmacy, in co-operation with the Indian Pharmacists Association Qatar (IPhAQ), the Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA), the General Directorate of Traffic, the Indian Doctors Club (IDC)- Qatar, and the United Nurses of India - Qatar (Uniq).The health services provided included routine medical examinations like blood pressure and blood sugar checkups, weight measurement, and body mass index assessment.Additionally, general and specialised medical check-ups were conducted, along with medical consultations.Medications were provided free of charge.Awareness workshops were conducted to educate the workers on the proper use of pedestrian pathways on roads to ensure their safety and on how to prevent diabetes.Abdulrahman al-Hajri, director of the Local Programmes and Community department, QC, said: "This medical camp is part of Qatar Charity's efforts to improve the level of healthcare and enhance the social and health development of workers who play a crucial role in the economic development and infrastructure of the country."Dr Amena Abdulla Alansari, manager of Umm Al Seneem Health Center, also thanked all stakeholders. Qasim Abdulrahman, president of CIC, expressed his delight at the collaboration with QC in organising the medical camp, which provided a significant opportunity for the workers to obtain necessary treatments, undergo essential medical examinations, and receive early detection of certain diseases that could become hazardous over time if left untreated.Ashraf K P, managing director of Wellcare Pharmacy, also commended QC's efforts for the local community, expressing hope for continued collaboration between the two entities in the future to benefit workers and individuals with limited income within the country.
