The Qatar Travel Mart (QTM) 2023 welcomed visitors Tuesday to the second day of the exhibition, with its immersive experiences, expertise, valuable insights, and abundant business opportunities.
The second day of the QTM's international conference commenced with a keynote address by Aamal Company chief executive Rashid bin Ali al-Mansoori.
Two panel discussions followed.
The first, on 'Creating A World Class Sustainable Destination', moderated by Prof Wolfgang Georg Arlt, featured speakers including Uber Luxe Safaris founder and managing director Bonita Mutoni, Turkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) director Esra Guler, African Sustainable Tourism Organisation chair and executive director Doris Maria Woerfel, Katara Hospitality assistant marketing and communications manager Shoaa Alsemaiti, and Azerbaijan Tourism Board chief executive Florian Sengstschmid.
The second panel discussion on 'Health Tourism in OIC Member Countries', moderated by Alioune Gueye of PDG Afrique Challenges on Health Tourism in Africa, featured speakers including ICDT (Turkiye-based Islamic Centre for the Development of Trade) Digitalisation in Health Tourism consultant Ahmet Enes Tekcan, and SESRIC (tatistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries) Economic & Social Research Department researcher Muzamil Edema.
An afternoon of talks took place on topics such as 'Responsible, Sustainable Culture and Heritage Tourism Growth', 'AMFORHT Responsibilities Towards Education, Institutions & Key Players in Our Industry', and 'Peru to The World'.
AMFORHT is the French acronym for the World Association for Hospitality and Tourism Education and Training.
Attendees were treated to a cultural experience at the QTM 2023's Global Village, featuring performances from Kyrgyzstan, Russia, India, Dominican Republic, Mexico and others.
The QTM's “Hosted Buyers” Programme, a collaborative effort with Qatar Tourism, allowed exhibitors and visitors to engage in face-to-face meetings with more than 100 international buyers.
These pre-arranged meetings catalysed potential investments and transformative partnerships with tourism experts, fostering impactful business collaborations.
The day's activities culminated with a grand gala dinner hosted at Raffles Hotel Doha.
The QTM 2023 concludes Wednesday.
