Al Abdulghani Motors (AAM), distributors for Toyota vehicles in Qatar, participated in the Qatar Sustainability Week recently and organised a Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) test drive event, a statement said.
The HEV variants of Toyota Highlander, RAV 4, C-HR, Corolla Cross, Camry, Corolla, Innova, Crown were featured in the event that started from the Toyota Showroom, Al Abdulghani Tower and headed towards Lusail Circuit.
The Highlander HEV combines all the familiar Toyota SUV attributes of comfort, drivability, and safety with low emissions, greater fuel efficiency, Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD), space on demand, and 1,500kg towing capacity.
The vehicle’s 2.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine comes with a combined power of 240 hp and maximum torque of 231 nm.
The RAV 4 Hybrid has a 2.5-litre four-cylinder Dynamic Force engine with D-4S fuel injection system, which produces 204 hp and 243 nm of torque, and mated to a new eight-speed Direct-Shift automatic transmission.
The C-HR HEV offers the lowest fuel consumption value in its category at 23.9 km/l, through advanced technologies. The Corolla Cross HEV, on the TNGA platform (GA-C) combines a tough urban-style exterior with a comfortable and convenient interior.
The Hybrid Camry can be driven entirely by either electrical power with zero-fuel consumption and carbon emissions, or with a combination of a petrol engine and electric motors depending on the vehicle speed and driving behaviour. The batteries are automatically charged by either the petrol engine or when braking and decelerating. Combining a petrol engine and electric motors, the hybrid electric drivetrain on Toyota Camry HEV produces 176hp and 118hp and delivers 22.5 kg-m and 20.6 kg-m of torque, respectively.
The Corolla HEV combines a petrol engine and electric motors. The class-leading model offers the lowest fuel consumption value in its category at 27.6km/l.
Corolla HEV is equipped with a 4-cylinder, 1.8-liter engine with a combined power of 121hp.
The Innova HEV highlights Toyota’s long-standing dedication to providing environmentally friendly vehicles and working towards achieving a carbon-neutral society.
The Toyota Crown comes exclusively with a choice of two environmentally friendly power trains. The first hybrid electric powertrain consists of a front electric motor and Toyota’s first-ever 2.4-litre inline four-cylinder turbo engine, mated with direct shift six-speed automatic transmission. A rear wheel eAxle that includes a high output water-cooled electric motor is coupled with the hybrid electric system to directly transmit force to the four wheels. The combined power output is 345hp.
The second hybrid electric powertrain consists of two electric motors and a 2.5 litre four-cylinder petrol engine, generating a total power of 219 hp. The hybrid-electric system, paired with an Electric Continuously Variable Transmission (e-CVT), achieves the highest fuel efficiency, with a consumption rate of 26.1 km/l.
The full range of HEVs are available for test drive in the Toyota Showroom, Al Abdulghani Tower, the statement added.
