Eight militants had been killed in a security operation carried out by Pakistani army forces in Waziristan district, northwestern Pakistan.
A statement by the Pakistani army's public relations office said that Pakistani forces carried out an operation in Sararogha area, resulting in the killing of eight militants, according to (Radio Pakistan).
The Pakistani forces carried out the security operation in light of intelligence information about a stronghold of militants, the statement added.
The statement indicated that the eight militants had been involved in numerous activities against security forces as well civilians. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from them.
The Pakistani forces have been continuing their efforts for years to eliminate armed groups along the country's mountainous borders.
