Doha College has announced the opening of Al Attiyah Adventure Playpark, a state-of-the-art outdoor play area, donated from Al Attiyah Architecture Group Holding by engineer Hamad bin Abdulla al-Attiyah, whose children are studying at the primary and secondary school.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by al-Attiyah, his family, the chair of the Doha College board, the leadership team and a group of students, a statement said Tuesday.
David Lish, chief operating officer at Doha College, expressed his gratitude towards al-Attiyah: "We are thrilled to unveil the Al Attiyah Adventure Playpark. This fantastic facility epitomises our commitment to holistic child development, combining fun with physical exercise. As a not-for-profit institution, such contributions enable us to redirect our funds towards enhancing other educational areas, ensuring every riyal received benefits our students."
Al-Attiyah, during the opening, shared his vision behind the donation. "To the children of Doha College, I donate this activity park with the hope that it kindles your sense of adventure and energises your spirit of activity. May the challenges here inspire you to persistently strive for your dreams."
A spokesperson for Edge Interior, the firm involved in the construction, said: "Our involvement in building Al Attiyah Adventure Playpark aligns with our mission to invest in Qatar's future. We believe this play area is more than just a recreational space; it's a foundation for developing future leaders who are confident, independent, and adventurous."
Ewerton Fortunato, from Al Attiyah Group Holding and a Doha College alumnus, reflected on the project's personal significance. "Assisting in this donation has been a profoundly rewarding experience. Seeing the joy it brings to the children reaffirms our commitment to enriching young lives. This park symbolises our dedication to fostering a spirit of exploration and community among the students."
