President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited the International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha, and was familiarised with its most important facilities and events. The Turkish president was accompanied during his visit by HE the Minister of Municipality and Chairman of the national committee for hosting the Expo 2023 Doha Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie, and a number of ministers from the delegation accompanying him, as well as senior officials. The Turkish president signed the register of VIP visitors and planted a Sidra tree in the International Zone of Expo 2023 Doha as a symbol of co-operation and friendship between Qatar and Turkiye.
The president and the accompanying delegation also visited the Qatari and Turkish pavilions where they viewed the most important modern agricultural techniques the technological equipment, and learned about the key initiatives made by the two countries in the field of sustainability. The current edition of Expo 2023 Doha seeks to find innovative solutions to turn challenges into opportunities by using modern technologies, reducing water consumption, and at the same time preserving natural resources, in addition to putting technology and innovation in the service of food security, and spreading environmental awareness to ensure sustainability.
The Expo 2023 Doha also represents an opportunity for researchers, innovators and creators to present their research and inventions related to agriculture and horticulture, and methods of flexibility and adaptation to the consequences of climate change.
