The pavilion of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) at Expo 2023 Doha highlights environmental and agricultural co-operation between the GCC countries, and embodies Gulf unity in the field of sustainability and its vision for a better tomorrow.
The GCC Secretariat-General special pavilion at Expo 2023 Doha named "Towards a Green Gulf... for a Sustainable Environment," reflects the Gulf nations' unwavering commitment to nature and sustainability.
It presents the GCC's joint vision for agricultural and the environmental co-operation, its efforts to protect the environment, reduce desertification and to co-operate in the fields of meteorology and climate change, in addition to highlighting the most prominent decisions issued by leaders of the GCC countries on the environment and agriculture.
HE Director-General of GCC Economic and Development Affairs Authority, GCC's Expo 2023 Doha Commissioner-General Khalid Ibrahim al-Sheikh said the pavilion's design embodies the achievements of joint Gulf action categorised and based on Expo 2023 Doha sub-themes of Modern Agriculture, Technology and Innovation, Environmental Awareness, and Sustainability.
He added that the pavilion takes the visitor on a journey of the GCC's interests and contributions in preserving natural resources and building a sustainable future for all.
Al-Sheikh said that over the past years, GCC countries have worked to enhance sustainability environmental and agricultural systems, formulating joint policies to tackle changing circumstances.
GCC's Expo 2023 Doha Commissioner-General noted that Expo 2023 Doha provides an opportunity to strengthen GCC ties with countries of the world as well as regional and international organisations.
