As many as 1,258 inspection tours of food facilities were completed during November in Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality by the Health Control Department under its jurisdiction.
A number of seizure reports for violation of the Human Food Law No. (8) of 1990 were issued and three complaints followed up. A total of 27 samples of local chicken and dairy products were sent to the Central Food Laboratory to confirm their safety for human consumption.
The medical team inspected 2,325 sheep and cow carcasses in slaughterhouses, which resulted in the complete destruction of eight carcasses. As many as 56,900kg of fish were also examined in the fish market. These campaigns come within the framework of ensuring the safety of consumers and that food establishments adhere to the necessary health requirements and standards during the display and sale of fish.
