Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has lauded Qatar's role and ongoing efforts in mediation and peacebuilding, stressing that the State's efforts in Gaza are exemplary in terms persistence, determination and success when it comes to the humanitarian issue.
During a Doha Forum session on *State Agencies and Multilateral Institutions in a Time of Multipolarity*, Osmani said that Qatar has provided an important model in successful efforts to protect innocent people, similar to its role in Gaza, where it made appreciated efforts in humanitarian mediation that contributed to an earlier ceasefire.
This important role of Qatar and the humanitarian pause it achieved in Gaza, she said, prompts everyone to insist on protecting the innocent not give up in order to find solutions to the challenges facing humanity.
Osmani pointed to the experience of her country, which has suffered from wars and crises during the 1990s.
In the end, multilateralism triumphed.
After months of war, the international community decided to stop the atrocities, which took numerous UN resolutions in addition to the efforts of multiple countries.
Osmani also praised the role of the UN in building peace over a period of 10 years.
Some believe that Kosovo attained what it achieved only with the support of Western powers, she said, explaining that peace and stability in the country were the result of support of friendly countries in the region.
Today, Osmani added, Kosovo is an example of what democracy can achieve.
She stressed that despite the prevailing pessimism regarding multilateralism and despite the decline in multipolarity in the world, Kosovo has benefited greatly from multilateralism.
Osmani expressed the hope that pluralism will remain the fundamental principle of the global system based on rules and principles for how countries deal with each other in a pluralistic world.
