Katara – the Culture Village will host various programmes while celebrating the Qatar National Day. The programmes will start Friday at Katara and the Old Port and will run until December 18 while enthralling the public and kids. According to an official statement from Katara, shows, competitions, workshops and other activities will be held as part of the celebrations. Visitors will enjoy the Qatari parade on Katara Corniche. These are in addition to the performances of the Armed Forces Music Battalion Band presented by the Military Shows Centre.
The Thuraya Astronomical Dome at Katara will host several activities, including astronomical shows in English and a show in Arabic. These are in addition to colouring workshops and other educational activities.
Al-Gannas Association will be part of the celebrations while Katara Cultural Market will display heritage items and various products. The Qatar Centre for Interfaith Dialogue in Katara will have a pavilion to introduce the centre and its goals through interactive programmes. The centre will also distribute souvenirs to the public and host entertainment activities.
Also, there will be art exhibitions and free drawing on Katara Corniche, in addition to the Katara Fine Art Competition, which will feature a group of artists. The southern part of Katara will host a balloon show and entertainment activities for children. Also, there will be a poetry night for poetry lovers. The event will be attended by eminent Qatari poets.
