The construction and gardening works at the Neighborhoods Park at Abu Hamour Area have almost been accomplished, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
The park overlooks Jabal Simsma Street and it has a space of 5,800 sqm. The residents at the areas have noted that the entity undertaking the implementation of the project had already accomplished the process of planting tens of trees there and created a good number of walking tracks, in addition to installing children playground equipment with various toys. Besides, some palm trees were planted and the landscape of the park was covered with natural grass. They pointed out that all such things have been there for the past few months and the park is not open yet for the public.
The park has also been equipped with adequate public services and utilities, lighting system and security surveillance cameras. The overall design of the park is made to be in harmony with the surrounding buildings and facilities. Further, it is easily accessible from different points, especially by foot to reduce the need for going there by cars.
Accordingly, the residents of the area asked the concerned entity to speed up the process of opening the park for the public as this is the winter time with its fine and refreshing weather, when people can go out and enjoy open to air parks with their families and friends. Besides, they believe that keeping the garden shut down waiting for the official opening would negatively impact the overall components of the place including the plants and the installed equipment. They stressed that when the park is open to the public and it is in use, the process of maintaining it would be more regular, and there will be little chance for negligence in this regard.
