Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Republic of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov hailed the State of Qatars decision to opt for Uzbekistan to be the venue for hosting the award ceremony for Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award this year; considering this gesture a support from the State of Qatar for Uzbekistans efforts in this field within the two nations endeavors to cement and upgrade the relations between them.
In remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Chairman of Uzbekistan's CCI emphasized that the State of Qatar is a model to emulate in anti-corruption field, urging the relevant entities in his country to benefit from the Qatari experience in bolstering transparency, combating corruption, enforcing and respecting the law, as well as creating an investment environment that helps attract a wide range of business sectors in a variety of fields.
Combating corruption and strengthening the underpinnings of transparency and integrity have a positive impact on reinforcing the economic and investment relationships among nations, which help create a reliable and stable investment environment to draw further investors from both countries and from various parts of the world, he pointed out.
Vakhabov elucidated that through regulating companies businesses and laying down the underpinnings of integrity, transparency and accountability, business environment in both public and private sectors is optimized which contribute to encouraging further companies for grow and expand in both countries, in addition to offering very serious incentives and regulations for investors to counter the corruption.
The upgradation of anti-corruption laws, ensuring their effective enforcement, encouraging awareness on the adverse impacts of corruption, and promoting the culture of integrity and transparency would spur economic cooperation, advance relations among nations and achieve sustainable development, Chairman of Uzbekistan's CCI outlined.
