The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has launched the activities of the first 2023-2024 Spring Forum ‘Act and Impact’, a statement said on Thursday. The forum is in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The events will be organised through centres across all municipalities and geographical areas. Students will participate in activities that benefit the mid-year holiday by helping develop and nurture athletic and creative talents while fostering a spirit of co-operation and competition.
To be held from December 24 to January 4, 2024, the forum will have activities and events suitable for different age groups.
The forum will be hosted by several centres that open their doors to students of public schools in addition to Qatari students in private schools. The youth centres, the Qatar Women's Sports Committee and the Qatar Sports for All Federation will host the activities in coordination with MoEHE.
Fatima al-Obaidli, head of the Programmes and Activities Department at the MoEHE, said involving students in the forum is important. "There is no doubt that student forums play a major role in the upbringing of students. They serve as a fertile environment that leads to motivating, promoting, and consolidating the best values while creating a loving and attractive educational climate that contributes to building the student's personality and refining his abilities and talents," al-Obaidli said.
Through these centres, the MoEHE seeks to motivate students to invest their time in helpful, exciting and stimulating activities while training participants to be responsible and socially engaged. The forum directs their intellectual and kinetic energies towards what benefits them, all within a supportive and enjoyable atmosphere. Registration is through the Qatar Sports Federation app, available in Arabic and English on the App Store and Google Play, the statement added.
