The activity of Mazhab Young Falconer 2023 wrapped up on Tuesday at Sbkhat Marmi in the Sealine Area. Organised by the Qatari Al Gannas Association, the four-day event featured the closing ceremony during which the co-operating parties were honoured, and winners of the contests crowned.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), director of Al Gannas Association's championships and chairman of the Marmi Festival Committees, Miteb Mubarak al-Qahtani, emphasized that the association purposefully aims to curate the legacy of the Young Falconer activity and instill it in the hearts of the Qatari young generations and propagate this culture among them.
Al Gannas Association prioritized this event as one of the annual activities directed towards the emerging young generation to nurture spiritual and educational values in their hearts, as well as the culture of authentic popular heritage, al-Qahtani outlined.
He added that the activities of Mazhab Young Falconer primarily aims to encourage young people to invest in leisure time through directing them towards respecting the authentic Arab traditions and customs, in addition to supplying them with skills and talents to handle the words of the authentic Qatari popular heritage when they embark on practicing the sniping hobby using falcons and riding horses.
The programme also aims to help young people benefit from religious and educational lessons with firm keenness to memorize verses from the Holy Qu'ran and the Prophetic Hadith, in addition to learning the etiquette of prayers and public tenets when they come across to handle hunting activities from Islamic and Sharia perspectives, as well as learning the etiquette of Majlis, hospitality and preparation of Arabic coffee, al-Qahtani pointed out.
He affirmed that the association steadfastly strives to register a substantial number of Mi Mazhab events in the upcoming editions, since the outputs of these events are receiving standing ovations from guardians and supervisors. In similar remarks to QNA, Saeed Rashid al-Nuaimi from Al Gannas Association said Mazhab Young Falconer was organised in perfect atmospheres amid huge turnout from younger participants who created enduring friendships and demonstrated their wits and responsiveness to their trainers, along with their ingenuity and intelligence.
The Mazhab Young Falconer depended on the activity of sharing nights in camps which helped solidifying fraternity and love among participants and their supervisors, al-Nuaimi noted, pointing out that the camps spawned future falconers, as camps combined joy and entertainment and forged new acquaintances that benefited the participants.
Abdulhadi Ali al-Nuaimi from Nomas Center emphasised to QNA that young participants received a plethora of enduring principles and acquaintances that would accompany them during their whole life.
