The Malaysian team will conduct its first training session today, and will play friendly against its Syrian counterpart on Jan. 8.
In its fourth appearance in the tournament, Malaysia national team is playing in Group E, alongside South Korea, Jordan and Bahrain.
The team, led by South Korean coach Kim Pan-gon, returns to the Asian Cup for the first time since co-hosting the 2007 edition.
Malaysia national football team was ranked 130th in the monthly FIFA rankings issued in Dec. 2023.
Malaysia will kickstart its Asian Cup journey by facing Jordan on Jan. 15, then Bahrain on Jan. 19, and South Korea on Jan. 25. (QNA)
