The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) has held an awareness lecture for members of Qatari Youth Hostels (QYH). The lecture was under the title 'threats to the marine environment and the role of youth in protecting it'.
According to a statement from the ministry, the lecture was held within the annual youth support camp as part of the ministry’s efforts to raise awareness among young people on the importance of the marine environment and introduce ways to preserve it.
The lecture was presented by Jassim Lari, Head of Marine Life Development Department at the ministry. He addressed the definition of environmental concepts while covering marine environment, marine natural habitats, marine ecosystems, and biodiversity. He also explained the most important risks that threaten the marine environment.
