King Abdullah II of Jordan warned Sunday of cataclysmic consequences of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of putting an end to the tragic humanitarian crisis in the strip.
During his meeting with the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, King Abdullah reiterated the significance of the role played by the United States of America in stepping up pressure for immediate ceasefire in Gaza, protecting civilians and ensuring the constant access of ample relief, humanitarian, and medical aid to Gaza.
He emphasized that security will never prevail in the region unless a just solution is found for the Palestinian cause, in addition to achieving just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
King Abdullah II stressed that Jordan fully rejects the forced displacement of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip which constitutes an outright violation of international law. He noted the importance of empowering Gaza people to return to their homes, pointing out that Jordan rejects the attempts to separate between Gaza and the West Bank since the two territories are an extension to the unified Palestinian state.
The violent acts practiced against Palestinians, along with the violations against Islamic and Christian sacred places in Jerusalem are rejected and must be countered before they lead to conflagration in the region, he outlined.
The meeting touched upon the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States and ways to reinforce it in a variety of fields.
