Matar, the Qatar Company for Airports Operation and Management, will be conducting its sixth full-scale emergency exercise at Hamad International Airport (HIA) Monday evening from 5pm to 8pm, it has been announced.
The simulation is part of Matar's commitment to ensure the highest level of preparedness in the event on an incident, while safeguarding the well being of staff and passengers, a release posted on X said.
The exercise will take place in the passenger terminal and the maneuvering area located airside and will not affect airport operations. The exercise will simulate an aircraft distress landing and accident, which will test the effectiveness of the emergency response of the airport, its partners, stakeholders and government agencies.
The full-scale emergency exercise will be conducted in coordination
with the partners and stakeholders including Qatar Airways Group, Airline Operators Committee, Airport Customs, Ministry of Public Health, Hamad Medical Corporation Ambulance Service, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, National Command Center, Ministry of Transport
and Communications, State Security Bureau, Qatar Emiri Air- Force, Qatar Air Accident Investigation, Qatar Red Crescent Society, Emergency Medical Services, Qatar Disaster Victim Identification Team and Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, the release said.
