Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), in partnership with Yemen Red Crescent Society (YRCS), has launched a project to enhance livelihoods for vulnerable and displaced people, at a total cost of $416,344.

It involves the provision of vocational training and production resources for the breadwinners of 669 families, to help them earn income in many professions such as tailoring, fishing, beekeeping, livestock herding, and maintenance of solar panels and smartphones.

During the inauguration of phase 1, Assistant Undersecretary for Shabwa Governorate, Ali Al Kindi thanked the government and people of Qatar for this support, which would make those in need live better.

QRCS has recently completed a similar project for the benefit of 4,270 internally displaced people (IDPs), in coordination with the competent authorities in Aden, Lahij, and Abyan, at a cost of $278,600. (QNA)
