Qatar Charity provides wheelchairs to AFC Asian Cup organising committee

As part of its social responsibility, Qatar Charity (QC) provided wheelchairs to the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 to facilitate the movement of people with special needs and elderly individuals. This initiative aims to ease fans’ access to match venues and stadium seats.Abdulrahman al-Hajri, director of the Local Programmes and Community department at QC, said: "This collaboration with the committee combines humanitarian and sports aspects to achieve common goals between both parties.”QC is keen to ensure the success of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 through the concerted efforts and integration of roles between the service and humanitarian institutions in the country, the official said. He also expressed QC's readiness to provide further cooperation with the organizing committee as per its request.Mohammed al-Mostafawi al-Hashimi, director of Facility Operations at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in Duhail, emphasised the importance of these wheelchairs in facilitating the access of elderly fans, as well as those with disabilities, to the stadiums. He noted that these wheelchairs will be distributed to nine stadiums for the AFC Asian Cup, expressing his hope for continued cooperation between the two parties in the future.Al-Hashimi highlighted the support provided by QC in previous tournaments, such as providing volunteers, delivering wheelchairs for individuals with special needs, and providing donation collection boxes. He indicated that QC makes prominent efforts in serving all sections of the local community, and that it enjoys a prestigious global reputation due to the implementation of diverse humanitarian and developmental projects on a wide scale in various countries around the world.
